Utrecht, August 26th 2009 – Today the Dutch Court of Utrecht ruled that BitTorrent platform Mininova acts unlawful. Mininova considers to appeal this judgment.
The court did not agree with Brein on all demands. Specifically, it ruled that Mininova does not infringe copyright and neighboring rights. The court also found Mininova can not be expected to remove files that are “reasonably likely” refer to infringing material.
Remarkably, the verdict does not give any consideration to the fact that Mininova has developed a content filter for Brein, nor to the cooperation between Mininova and other organizations of rights holders. This surprises Mininova, because it has always stressed the importance of cooperation.
Erik Dubbelboer, co-founder of Mininova: “We are obviously not satisfied with this ruling. The result of this ruling for Mininova is that we have to reevaluate our business operations. At this time, we cannot determine what this will actually entail or imply. We will have to examine the verdict thoroughly first. We are considering to appeal this judgment.”
The fact that we are all here either posting or commenting (good or Bad) just bring to light that this site is actually doing something good for us all. For that Thanks Mininova. Even people bashing this site seem to always end up coming back here for what they are looking for. There are those who are bashes and then there are those who are hypocritical bashers. The difference is that a true basher says what he has on his mind and leaves and believe it or not that can be very constructive for any company. But then, there are those who bash and come back. AKA : Hypocritical Bashers, They just waste everybodies time and there comments arn’t worth the effort of being taken seriously cause they have no honnor. The fact that someone says he doesn’t like your site and that he won’t come back but then returns to leave more malicous comments means you can’t trust his words. He just broke his by returning. That right there tells you all you need to know about that person. So don’t even reply, its not worth it.

Despite infringement orders, isp banning orders and attempts to sue, some of us still keep coming back, like has been said here. I used to be a pretty big uploader on here. I still am to a degree. Just had to be clever about it

personally, i think these kids have been spoilt by the parents and this is why they are so bullish and insulting.

Good Luck Mininova. I can always find what I want on here, the only problem i have is with private torrents that mean i have to sign up to another site. As an uploader and downloader i find mininova the best and easiest to use.
