The upcoming court trial with BREIN, which was planned on Wednesday May 20th, has been postponed until Tuesday June 2nd, at 13:00 hours. The reason for this postponement is solely due to personal circumstances of our attorney and has explicitly nothing to do with the content of the case.
We would like to thank the parties involved for their cooperation in this postponement.

The way things are going on the site and the speed you are taking down torrents Niek , there will not be any need for a court case as there will be no torrents left to download! As for the way us uploaders have been treated then how can you expect them to trust you any longer? Do you pay our internet fees or the electricity we use to upload to Mini? Did you buy our computers, did you buy the dvds we rip ? No! Well at least show us some respect and not something the dog brought in!
Plus if the court case is put back then your “trail filter” will last that much longer!

Amity, you DO realise theres a commandment “thou shall not steal” right? now,weather or not the guy behind the big dest that owns the name, copyright, and entire company is a mont mongering bastard that over prices everything they sell. Hes (and the employees, publishers, and co-creators) still own the product that they offer for a price. Getting something for free that would otherwise cost you is _not_ the definition of ’stealing’.
Again, what is it that we’ve stolen? Do these companies no longer have something that they once did? Did we really take anything _from_ them? Lost profits? Isn’t that slightly presumptuous?
In a court of law (one that is not filled with puppets whose strings are pulled by the likes of the MPAA and RIAA) it should have to be _proven_ that we would have otherwise purchased the products that were ’stolen’. If I would not have purchased that copy of then nothing was ever stolen from or lost by the company in question.
Since they cannot prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that I would have purchased their product if it was not available via torrents (or similar), they have no grounds to convict me of criminal activities (stealing).
When the movie industry is posting record profits (pre-economic meltdown), they get absolutely no sympathy from me by crying about piracy. The greed of these people is disgusting.

hey guys, i had been wondering what all the fuss was about certain uploaders not uploading stuff anymore, and now i hear the day of the court hearing…….. that mininova is going to court for….”STEALLING” i’m sorry but how is a third party able to be charged with anything, when it’s not even the owner uploading stuff, it’s all of us, and yes alot of us purchase these products before and after testing the product, that they have downloaded, i have been using this site for a bit now and cannot say how much it has helped save my computer from crashing and being usless and helped my in my decions to purchase products and giving those money hungry corporate asshole’s the money they want.
Think about it were would they be if they never released beta versions, etc. up shit creek without a paddle, cos there livleyhood is US!!, the consumer, yeah there are the occasional naughty people out there that just grab grab grab, but as “Reason” said and i quote:

Its a little sad that lessons of yesterday are lost on Brein and anti-sharing agencies. All that enforcement does is push things like sharing further underground. It happened with liquor, marijuana, pornography and more. What BREIN and their cohorts are doing is punishing those who power internet development and ostracizing those with the skills and know-how to actually make large downloads a regulated commodity.
It’s become obvious as large torrent trackers are shutdown over and over that they can’t stop the rise of similar sites and networks.
So rather than cry at BREIN, I say we develop BitTorrent Technology further as a community. Show BREIN and their backers that prohibition will fail just as it has always failed, and show the general public that file-sharing is an important method of creating new and useful technologies that can help business and economies rather than hinder them.
