Even though some of us are on holiday we are still working to improve our websites. Here are some features that we have just put live.
Updates for Snotr:
Timelinks
It is now possible to link to a specific time within a movie using the simple minutes:seconds format.
Quotes
You can now quote other comments using the #number format.
Flash 9
The Snotr player has been rewritten to Flash 9 so we can support full screen (currently available through right clicking) and HD content.
Improved seeking
It is now possible to seek to a point in the file that isn’t loaded yet.

My Bookmarks
http://www.mininova.org/my/bookmarks is now sortable.
Torrents per tracker
You can now view all torrents from a specific tracker, for example: http://www.mininova.org/tracker/17188. Links to trackers can be found on the torrent details pages.
Improved searching
Searching using quotes (”") and excluding words (-) has now been improved.
On another note, Sphinx, used for Mininova search, is awarded for the SourceForge 2008 Community Choice Awards.
FTP Uploads
Content Distribution users are now able to use FTP to upload their content. This way they can upload files bigger then 1GB.
Automatic Extracting
CD uploads using .zip or .rar archives are now automatically extracted.

Amazing updates like usual!
You need quality control on your featured content.
Ok, great site, almost add free, excellent. However I feel you have really dropped the ball on featured content.
1. Often there is corrupted torrents in the feature content
2. Ofter featured content is years out of date (production date for non-famous items)
Which leads me to believe that you never watch/listen to any of it to make sure that it is what it says it is. As you recommend it as Featured Content, I believe that you have a responsibility to check it out first. Not just for quality control, but for relevance, usability, and suitability…… Should be you guys to make the first comment, as you have already given enough of an opinion to make it featured content.
Mininova Is the best torrent site I’ve ever seen.
It’s public and updating it’s feature very frequently.

@andy you are missing the point about featured content. it is provided by independent publishers who are self selecting
i have never heard of a corrupted torrent anywhere, are you sure you do nto have a local issue?

Thanks for both Mininova and Snotr. Not advanced sites, but clean and thrustworthy, nice for simple persons like me. And they direct me right to where I want, not like other torrent sites and after a few months, a year perhaps, Snotr will rival youtube. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, there’re fancier sites, and there are sites with more stuff. But for my money (or lack thereof) mininova has proven it’s got staying power, organization, and quality of files.
Unlike some I’ve seen where one scans page after page for the type of file or flick wanted; unlike some that are up today and down tomorrow, and lastly…unlike some with files more often than not trash or fakes, Mininova just keeps on pluggin away with consistently good stuff.
What’s that worth to me? Well, I keep coming back, eh?

loving the Bookmark addition saves me heaps of time when im away from my computer.
Just pointing out the Automatic extraction, would this be a protection threat? just say if some dickhead set a virus upon extraction, there is no way of stopping it if it is set to automatically extract..
