We’ve got great and exciting news! Mininova passed the 4 billion (4.000.000.000) torrent downloads mark today 
It’s nice to see that the download counter continues to speed up: after reaching 3 billion downloads back in November 2007, we expected to reach the current number only in March or April.
For the sake of clarity: our download counter represents the number of times a .torrent file is downloaded from Mininova, this is not identical to the number of times a peer completes the download.
Some additional statistics for those who’re interested: our Alexa rank is currently 54, and Google Analytics shows that more than 32 million unique visitors used Mininova last month. These people together generate more than 510 million pageviews per month, which causes quite some pressure on our servers. We do whatever we can to minimize downtime and add extra servers when necessary.
Thanks to everyone who helped us to accomplish this! Special thanks go to our moderating team, who did and do a marvelous job.

True about that, Mininova is one of those family friendly sites which dont feature excessive flashing porn ads all over the screen, and has a very clean and slick interface for faster loading too. All the new torrents for the day are easily seen on the front page, which definitely makes it the best torrent site there is.

Do you realize that if you divide it all up two hundred pageviews are occurring every second… 1,2,3,4,5 1000 individual pages were just loaded… with that said I feel the website still loads the pages pretty quickly and I am also glad that for the most part the pages are fairly simple which also helps keep the site moving along

to all the above people don’t panic anyone mininova isnt going anywhere as someone as pointed out already, the main reason for this is because of what happend when Maa and swedish poice shut down pirate bay last year hackers took there revenage by shutting down Swedens poice offical web site and aload of other enforcement web sites which not alony cost them alot of money but embarresemnet and not only that protestors took to the streets in protest which was unwated publilicty for sweden so if they take down mininova chances are Hackers will hit them hard mucher harder than when pirate bay went down and copywrite agencies will not take that chance mininova are too big and by closing them down would course them massive problems with what happend to pirate bay who knows what will happen one way or another mininova is here to stay
P.s Someone somewhere is making too much money out minivova to let tham be shut down esp when so many companys advertising there brands on mininova and as everyone knows adverstising is big revenue for companys so theres that reason minivoa will be around for along time yet anyway folks watch this space as p2p will become legalized with the launch of qtrax if they ever get the rudder server running properly but when they finaly go live it will change free p2p and torrent sites forever it will be a victory for us Pirates Ha Ha me yardys sailing the seven torrent seas!!!!!

Hi Andy mininova admin wont reply to you however I can tell you that while mininova is illegal there are currently fewer laws against torrent sites than p2p such as limewire,kazza and iMesh extra the reason for this,is that when you use torrent sites they only download torrent files which leads to copyrighted material however your not directly downloading it of the web site they are purley a go between you and the seeder and most torrent sites such as mininova now operate in Canda,Norway or Sweden where there are less copyright laws against torrent sites and what you have to bare in mind is with over 4 billion users to mininova getting your Ip address would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.BPI and Maa Dont have the resourses and finances to prosecute everyone that userse the site can you imagine how much time and money it would cost and when qtrax finaly!!! goes live being the first ever legal free to download P2P it will change laws against free downloading probly with some restrictions as DRM

to Torrent01uk, they found my needle in a haystack, i just got a letter from my isp with a complaint from NBC Universal for downloading The Bourne Ultimatum from here. they had all the timestamps and my ip address. a bit worrying imo

to Andy I don’t know if you have been follow media web sites but there was a blog on one that BPI as Ask tiscali to impose a 3 stike ban initialy Tiscali was happy to do that but when Tiscali told BPI they want to be refunded for kicking customers of for downloading illegaly and for sending out notices they had refuse to pay them so in return Tiscali have told them no they wont give up Ip address without recieving money back and im willing to guess that most ISPs will feel the same so unless copyright agencies start paying them it will be a while before they give out your details out
