Silly title and silly movie.
first of all, I don’t have the need to defend corporations, they are all eating beasts where only motive is more and more profit.
Yet I fail to see how we are going to fight corporations when youngsters of at least average IQ believe they are doing something special, that they are excercising freedom of speech by downloading latest hollywood movie on cam version. What does that say about this “movement”?
No one is preventing you from excercising your freedom of speech. You can communicate and share all you want, they just don’t want you to do it with their stuff.
So how about making this fight inteligent and start sharing what is under creative commons, otherwise all that talk is a complete bshit.
Start creating your stuff and share it. Make that ination strong and let corporations come to you and offer their stuff for free.
Taking it by force will resolve nothing and you can’t hide under the freedom opression and all that crap if you are sharing cam versions of movies. That’s insane and, well, yes, childish.
Of course, if people think that sharing I am Legend dvd screener is caring, then they are really stupid.

Hoffman had a book out back in the 70s called “Free” and in the back was a section on how to ripoff society.

in case you haven’t heard through the grapevine, yet, here’s the new German Law as of 1 Jan 2008:
All web activity will be stored and submitted every 6 months from all IP Providers.
The 6 month list of web site activity - i/e: the addresses/names of all sites visited will be given to the Local State Authorities to be used in criminal cases to their discretion.
So, what this means, essentially, is that if you go anywhere on the internet - you are subject to prosecution by the local cops, just for visiting a “Blacklisted” site.
Which brings to mind, the Golden question - which sites are on their, “Blacklist”?
There was a huge rally in Berlin against this sort of mandate, which the Media was not allowed to cover - or better to say, chose not to cover - and of course the Law passed.
i do hope that the Countries in which you reside never resort to such underhanded tactics, a sign of things to come?

I know that everyone on torrent site doesn’t think they are part of something, but everyone has a nice excuse, which actually makes me think what they believe. It’s like everyone still believes they steal, just like the movie itself suggests.
However, are you the one to judge what Tom Cruise will miss?
How about not using their product and show your stance that way. What does it have to about hollywood at all? Just stop using it.
I mentioned cam versions because there’s so much explaining how sharing is caring and that you should be allowed to share your dvd rip with the whole world. Well, what’s the point of selling dvds anyway. Studios might as well just give away all movies for free.
But with cam versions there’s no excuse. You’re not sharing any product that has been bought and that’s where the pretending stops.
If the industry has to blame itself for the downfall, specially music, how are we going to show it to them? By ripping and sharing it? How do you show that industry that certain band/singer is shit if he sells like 500k copies but his album was downloaded 5 million times.
If anyone thinks that that kind of piracy will win, then he believes that leech can win against the host. Well, it can but it’s called the death of the hosts.
So if anyone wants to support this film, wouldn’t it be far better to support the creative commons and not download hollywood shit?
Otherwise you’re downloading copyrighted material just because you can get it for free and believe you can’t get caught, which in a way says a lot.

maybe there are people out there that dont have much of anything. they have a computer and a internet and dont have the time or money to go out and watch these movies. so they get them for free off of the internet just to watch. there are still millions of wealthy rich ass people out there who pay for there movies. so i think us poor/middle class people should be able to induldge in a little bit of new movies we cant afford. i dont know thats just my 2 cents.
I download because I’m a poor student and can’t afford cable, CDs, or theatre admission prices.
I like that outlets like mininova are available because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to see or hear any of the shit that I want to.

In canada they’re talking about adding 5 dollars to the cost of high-speed internet access so everyone can download as much as they want and not have to worry about copyright infringement. This obviously wouldn’t have happened if downloading hadn’t caught on the way it has. Changes are happening man.. you just want to sound smarter than everyone else.
