After having quite some issues earlier tonight we made some source code changes. This proved to be a bad strategy (we didn’t test these changes enough) and we ended up with a corrupted database. We are restoring a backup as we speak, but many of the torrents uploaded today are probably lost. We are going to try and restore those as well, but our first priority is to restore the backup of this morning.
If you uploaded torrents today, please re-upload them again as soon as we are up and running again.

hey just wanted to say that mininova is the best webpage ever. Easy search options, great selection, extremely well organized and you guys just ROCK! Even the down times of the site are so few and far between. KUDOS TO ALL who help with this site.
And yes I write this after 1 hr of downtime and researching a few other alternatives and…no other site is this well maintained.

dopeman if your so smart and really care about mininova then why don’t you post instructions on what to do so novices can learn how to protect themselves? Just a thought instead of basically calling people stupid!
I agree with “me”. A possible method is the use of ‘Tor’. Specifics can be found on the Internet, Sparky. It has come in handy in circumventing the protection undertaken by our college with regards to the usage of BitTorrent clients. Of course, there may be other methods but this is the only one I know of and have tested to great success.
And I too commend Mininova and its admins for bringing us the best downloads around!

Use peerguardian you fools. Unless you use a Mac, you can get it if you search a bit (yeah, there’s a version for Linux too). Peerguardian blocks IP’s from people who like to spy BT networks so you can’t get caught.

I have also recievd an email from my isp about downloading and i feel that we all must deal with this crap. Never stop downloading ,fight for your freedom. If they want to track what i download. And thats what they do here then tell them this.
