Hi everyone!
Just a few days left and it’s Christmas, the time of the year you spend with family, friends and… browsing the new & improved Mininova 
As you may have noticed, the site has undergone huge changes. We moved the site to a new hoster and datacenter, which will drastically improve performance. The search backend of the site has also been rewritten, resulting in a faster (and hopefully better) search experience.
After months of development and testing, we’re also introducing a new layout for Mininova. Extra functionality has been added and existing features are easier to use now. For example the “Jump to category” drop down box will help you quickly go to your favorite section, but also quite a few other cool but subtle features have been added.
This doesn’t mean the site is perfect now. In fact, we’re quite sure there are still some bugs & errors left, which we didn’t spot. In case you do, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to fix them! Same counts for the layout: please let us know your ideas to improve the layout.

The site looks greate, but on of the things that that I am missing, is the the time of day, the Torrents are posted, You only display the Date Now. One of the things I have always loved about your Site is that You always Knew when what was posted, that always made it easy to keep track of what is new and what I have already looked at.
Please think about bringing back more details on the time the Torrents are posted.

The new look of the site is awesome, Big Huge Kudos
Bring back the old layout. This new one is bloat, it eats up serious processor power even on my 3ghz P4, just scrolling up/down the page and moving the mouse over the links causes CPU usage to top-out. The old version didn’t noticably affect CPU usage so why this horrible change? Yet again another website falls to the old “style over content” degredation that plagues the web.
I liked that you could sort by seeds, leechers, age, and such. Not anymore it seems. The rest is fine, but that feature was important, to me at least.
Willis you still can: http://www.mininova.org/today/ if I remember correctly, when you used to “sort” on the front page you would get redirected to /today so only that link on the front page disappeared :).
I can still sort by seeds and such Willis. are you sure your doing it right? Make sure your looking at all entries first then click seeds at the headers.
BTW guys this is fantastic. Never seen the site look as good and be as fast as it has been today. Everything looks great…

We’re getting lots of IPS driver errors on the forum, is it just because you’re working on it?

Where do you get your rendering time from? It is never even close to correct…
I loaded yesterdays torrent page and it shows “This page was generated in 0.002 seconds.”, but i timed it with FasterFox and in reality it took 54 seconds. Clearly unacceptable…
By the way, I am using the latest FireFox (2.0.0.1) and I have a 8/1mbit Internet connection. Running on a fairly decent computer, your site should render a lot faster. As it is right now (it was the same with the old version) you would think you where using an old dial up connection…

Is there a little (very little) chance that the log out bug may be fixed ?
(I mean, the bug that logs you off when you hit the “post” comment button, if the cookie is older than - it seems - 24 hours or so.)

I don’t know if this feature I’m going to tell you is doable and can let the new servers breathe enough, but a vote system like digg or the eMule rate system would be nice, if of course no people like **AA would not try to screw this thing. I just noticed an “enlarge your penis” on the frontpage.
I have “hide torrents with less than 5 seeds” but it seems not to work on this version yet. I’ll try to change the value and then put it again.

cane: The time of page generation is different from loading time.
Cane like it says, generated is something else then when it’s on entirely on your screen. It’s the time it took for the server to generate the xhtml.

All im asking is are all torrents still here? I regualrly go for Smallville and we are on series6 just now but when i went on all the torrents were gone? Only 4 left? Used to be around 80 i think?

Nice changes, with one problem. I’m mainly concerned with speed and reliability, which seem to have improved. The new site looks nice too, but if there is ever a choice between looks and speed, please always go for speed.
The one problem I noticed is with RSS feeds on searches. One major change from the old site. Namely, if I search for something and it is not on mininova, the page just says “No results for [search].” And there is no orange RSS icon.
That might seem logical, but I used to set up RSS feeds for things that I knew might be coming in the future, so I could be sure not to miss them if they ever showed up. For example, if I know of a band named “Toxma Dudes” and there’s none of their stuff on mininova yet, I could still grab the feed and then be notified if/when their stuff did get added.
Yes, I could figure out the feed manually, but that’s an additional hassle. On the old site, every search returned an RSS feed. That was important. Please bring that back.

one small bugged thing tho i noticed:
after searching, and clicking one time on ‘Added’ for sorting,
second time cant be clicked there and cant see the list as it was possible before,
so that newest torrents are on top
even more detailed, one cant sort immediately by ADDED without first clicking some else sorting

RSS dont work, i cant access to the general RSS but its work when i try to view a RSS from a category
CSS problem
the page become to long in today section because most torrents have 2 lines
in today section sort by seeds, the “jump category” select float over the torrent table

Anything that makes it faster is great but I doesn’t all me to download the torrent to my choice of place. Like the desktop,, like the other site did. So if Shareaza is working,, it goes straight to it and not to my desktop where I like to open it with Bitlord! Thanks

Nice design, clear and very ergonomic. I would suggest one thing : the possibility to sort by seeds search results before doing a search.

However … why don’t you save yourselves a SHIT load of bandwidth, and speed up your service at the same time?
Instead of one big ass page of all the TODAY’s torrents, why not give us separate landing pages for each of the categories.
All i am interested in is TV and couldn’t give a crap about the extra nonsense.

The new design is brilliant. But my only complaint is that mininova still takes an awful time to load which imo is the most frustrating thing for internet users. Speed is very very important and like someone else said you must go for speed over other enhancements.

Is it possible to get all the TV Shows of today/yesterday sorted by seeds?
When I click on “seeds” in http://www.mininova.org/today/ I get *ALL* torrents sorted, not only the TV Shows’
With the old interface I think that was impossible, and the new one looks much better, BTW.

But Mininova is still the slowest website on the net that I use. It can take 5min just to load the main page. All other sites load in
