We received quite some complaints from users lately that the site was very slow. In order to fix this we just placed an extra search server and upgraded an existing webserver (apparently, one of its hard drives died, so read/write operations were very slow).
As a result, everything should run smoother than ever now! In the case that you spot some bugs or performance issues, please let us know.

Nahu – the Google owning Mininova thing was an April Fool’s joke. And the ‘torrent doesn’t exist’ is when a torrent has been deleted for being fake or against the rules. It happens when I or the other moderators or admins delete them.

I think that mininove.org would stay better if it had a ration system !! Many other sites like torrentleech and torrent-damage are the best because they have ration system and people have to seed .. In mininove people abuse and exagerate in their downloads… after thet they just close the BitTorrent client and they don’t seed !!

If you’re feeling bored, hehe, what about a custom RSS feed that would use keyword matching to give you a feed of new torrents that matched your keywords. Clicking on it would let you dl the torrent, or go right to the torrent’s page.

you have been conned by a false site and I suspect it was mininova.com.
This site ‘mininova.org’ has absolutely nothing to do with ‘mininova.com’.
‘Mininova.org’ is 100% free and will never ask for any payments from any user, hence the ads on the site, that is how ‘mininova.org’ makes it’s money to pay for the server.
Please note that ‘mininova.com’ is a frontpage based on a server in Housten, Texas, USA. The same servers as ’suprnova.com’ also another false site that charges for money then points users to µtorrent’s website and then to here for torrents.
‘Mininova.org’ is based in the Netherlands not the USA.
My immediate advice to you is get on the phone to your credit card company, cancel any payments to the site you signed up for and report the fraud.
To other users, please remember that….
1. ‘Mininova.org’ uses adverts to pay for the servers, so click on them from time to to time, it only takes a few secs and you can always close the page!
2. ‘Mininova.org’ will never ask you for any monetary payment or contribution.
3. ‘Mininova.org’ is only a ‘database’ of torrents that have been uploaded by users to the ‘mininova.org’ database.
Torrents uploaded have to have a tracker to work and ‘mininova.org’ recommends users to use one of the public trackers that are available.
Note that none of these public trackers are associated with ‘mininova.org’!
‘Mininova.org’ is not, never has been or had a tracker of it’s own, so please immmediately stop calling or saying that ‘mininova.org’ is a tracker.
I’m sorry if your having problems with tracker errors etc when your trying to download the files in a torrent, to resolve your tracker problems you will have to go to the actual site that runs that particular tracker, ‘mininova.org’ can not help you with tracker problems!

I tried three or four times today to reset my password so I could log in. Geez, all I wanted to do was give some poor guy a tip on using a keygen.
I tried each of the supposedly reset passwords many times. I waited about ten hours and tried the latest again. Each time I was told, in bold red lettering, that my password was no good.
What does it take to get a working password if one has forgotten the original?

this includes having to install NETPUMP and then using the netpumps version 1.x.x…
this 1.x.x.. is supposed to be the password, it is NOT, it doesnt work
and netpump is difficult to completely get rid of.
this torrent should be removed from ur lists and any further offers from these ppl should be avoided at all costs.

It does tend to become slow during the hours of 10pm (GMT) to 6am (GMT), probably due to the vast number of users in the USA & Canada accessing the site during their evening period.

But the Winzip contains encrypted files including the password file!
There is a web link to a site that claims to allow you to access the password, but it’s a file uploader only.
Any ideas? Or is this just a spam upload?
It may be a spam upload (or a private site touting for business).

When the forum is stable again (try it just now anyway) there may be a password in the ‘Passwords’ section for the torrent, search for it (or you can request one for it).

If you can’t get one from the forum ‘Passwords’ section then you may wish to use the ‘Report’ feature on the torrent page to let the admins & mods know it’s a fake torrent, they’ll delete it when they can, usually within 24 hours at most.

Tell you what would be a real improvement is stopping the ads from preventing the browser to go back if its clicked over a few times.
For example reading a few comments, click to go back and it just freezes on that page reloading itself… way frustrating.
