Some time after we started mininova there were a few people that thought that uploading spam torrents would be a good idea to advertise their “GET A FREE XBOX 360” links (or PSP, or HDTV, or well you get the point 
).
At this time we banned 3651 people (some of which are people who received multiple bans). To see if some country has more (persistant) spammers than others, I decided to compare some statistics.
If you compare these percentages with the number of visitors:
You notice France ( ) doing a great job and Germany probably has a few nasty spammers 
(or they have more of those “free stuff” sites).
These stats actually prove nothing but hey, statistics are always fun .
The piecharts are generated using the cool php script from peters1.dk. (Gnuplot, which is used for all the graphs on mininova.org, doesn’t support piecharts)
Is it just me, or has Larry King had like 5 heart attacks and 5 divorces. I guess that’d be a broken heart for each.

I used to be a member of mininova.org but I think I was banned for no reason. Why was this?
Its strange why there was a mass banning rather than it being done gradually.
What’s wrong with the banning? It all makes perfect sense that uploaders who tend to put crap on mininova should be prevented from uploading anymore trash ( They are free to use other features!).
And there is a clear option of getting the ban removed by contacting the admin @ irc.
Mininova indexes about 147,640 torrents and if 3651 uploaders are banned for scamming it simply means that the problem of scamming was getting too big to ignore. 3651 uploaders at a minimum of 1 torrent per person contributes 3651 torrents which means that on an average at least 1 out of 40 torrents is fake.And taking a more realistic view it should come to about 1 in 10 as fake !
When you download a file you don’t want it to be a fake leave alone a virus infected suicide bomber ! And since bittorrent sites like mininova need new visitors to grow it is best if they don’t disappoint them.Justified

I want to know why after all the Great WWE, ECW, TNA torrents I have uploaded here why I have been banned? Whats the matter can’t you mods handle a few freedom of speech comments or are you so uptight and fucking conservative in the head that you cannot handle criticism by a deadicated uploader who goes to a lot of time and $$$ expense to constantly upload great wrestling torrents here for wrestling fans around the world? Why am I being disrespected here for? Im not Chris Benoit and I havent killed anyone and at the time I uploaded that torrent the REAL facts had NOT been made public yet. In closing I think you mods here are PATHETIC for deleting my account and all my comments on all the torrents I have uploaded here. From now on I’ll upload my torrents at The Pirate Bay where they dont do stupid shit like this and they say FUCK CENSORSHIP!!!!!

The amount of “German” could be explained by the number of Tor exit nodes located there but I’d say you probably missed a lot of Germans in those 41%.
How come some websites are allowed to post urls in uploads and others are not?
Mine is plentyoftorrents.com the infamous torrent meta search site and it wont let me post my url when uploading.
Why am I banned? I haven’t done anything wrong. I’ve never spammed and I’ve never uploaded anything to this site. If you’re going to ban people, at least do it right and not totally at random.
